The global spotlight is now on artificial intelligence (AI) as our communities in health professions education (HPE) actively strive to establish a unified, consensus-driven strategy for addressing imminent opportunities and challenges. A coordinated effort also better prepares us to anticipate and plan for the unfolding future.

AI International Committee, NUS, AAMC, AMEE, IAMSE, AAHCI

The AAMC in collaboration with AMEE: The International Association for Health Professions Education, the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE), the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) has convened the International Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence. Committee members represent a global perspective on AI, ensuring the range of innovations and learning can be harnessed for everyone’s benefit.

With the overarching goal of providing guidance and best practices for the HPE community, the International Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence holds the responsibility of actively surveying the rapidly evolving landscape of AI developments and identifying potential opportunities and concerns affecting learners, as well as the faculty and staff supporting them. The AAMC’s MedBiquitous program is organizing this initiative.

Committee updates and future opportunities to participate will be shared here. Questions about the committee? Contact medbiq@aamc.org.
